I know it's been a while since any updates here, but if you recall, I'd mentioned months ago that I needed to return for some 'revision' work in Thailand.  Well I'm here now in Bangkok a day after surgery and doing well.  From the time Dr. Chettawut examined me to the time I came back down from the procedure it was a little more than 2 hours.

I was conscious for the whole surgery, but with a local anesthetic and being under sedation, he was able to do the work without (much) pain.  Ok, the shots for the local hurt, and so did one other thing he did (I'll spare you the details on that, but suffice to say, they gave me morphine at that point), but when I left the office, I was feeling pretty good. Good enough that I figured Rachel and I could go shopping later that night, but after an hour or so, the local anesthetic wore off, and reality set in.  I spent the day sleeping as much as I could, and trying to talk Rachel into letting me have more pain meds.

Anyway, this morning I was feeling much better and the nurses checked me out, and said everything was healing properly.  I'm very glad I came back to have this done.  Dr. C is very careful, gentle and skilled.  He really is kind of like an artist in what he does, and there is no one else I'd trust to do this kind of work.  It's also great to have someone here with me this time.

So for now, I'm all done with surgeries and follow ups, and we'll hopefully spend some time over the next week shopping and sight seeing.
