Plans for Thailand are coming together. The lady taking my passport application methodically double checked my application against my drivers' license and birth certificate, and found no errors. It seems she didn't feel the need to match the gender as she thought it was obvious. So after she finished her checking, I handed her the letter from my surgeon, which would inevitably be required for me to have an 'F' on it. It's always nice to know I pass.
I did have to talk to my psychologist about getting a letter to state that I'm a good candidate for GRS, and that went well. I do have to meet with his 'Gender Board' for final approval at which point I can have my 2 letters from psychologists recommending me for surgery. Otherwise, I'm just getting my taxes done and just wait for the return and my passport. My flight is set, as is the time off work. I'm so excited!
I'm so glad this will be just a few months away. I was already starting to dread waiting until next year for it. So Yay! for Thailand! I am brushing up on some more Thai phrases.
I have been able to see my old friends again, and while they're still frequently using male pronouns and occasionally the wrong name, they are making an effort to use them and get used to the idea of me being female. As long as people are trying, I don't see any need to correct them. It comes with time, as does greater acceptance.
I am making some improvements with my voice, and people are starting to notice. It's easier anyway, but not automatic. I'm starting to notice that with this new confidence, I'm actually talking more in public now. Which is good, because I don't like sitting back and being quiet all the time.
