Good morning, Thailand! I'm not sure where in the air I am, but We should be landing in an hour and 15 minutes or so. When I got on the plane, there were no outlets for my laptop, so it's been off until now. But as I'd not slept much before, I tried the 'sleep through it approach'. The flight was not crowded and I was able to have the whole row to myself. There was more leg room too, but simply stretching out over 3 seats and having 3 pillows gave me a variety of positions to stay comfortable in.
Ok, that was quick - my power went down on that last paragraph. I'm now in my room at the hotel, and busy trying to get internet access going. So I'll update everything soon - I get picked up for my consultation in 70 minutes!
Ok, back from my consultation. FINE, so everyone who told me I was nuts thinking I needed liposuction to get rid of abdomen fat - you win. He says there isn't anything for him to go for, and that it's just abdomen muscle. I guess that may subside over time since I don't work on those muscles anymor. However, he is going to do a face lift and also remove some fat from my lower eyelids. I had been concerned about my the area under my eyes, but he says he can help it some - nothing dramatic, but it's not an expensive 'option' either, and a minor procedure. In fact, I go back at 5pm tonight (6am to you EST folks) to have that done. He doesn't like to stack up a bunch of procedures at once, so it's being done separate. It looks like we're doing the face lift Saturday too, but the GRS & BA is on for Wednesday, probably between 3-4pm, so by the time many of you get to work, it should all be done! So eyelids today, GRS/BA Wednesday, facelift Saturday, and I should be back in my room by Monday evening.
I've seen the town from the car rides over to the clinic & from the airport. Bangkok is a huge sprawling city, and the poor parts are quite visible, and at places mixed in with the nicer areas. There are some beautiful flowers by the roadsides, and other well landscaped areas, with some very nice buildings. But turn you head and you can see housing that well, you don't even see that in our big cities. But the Thai people are all very friendly from what I've encountered.
OH, and I'm SO glad to get some nice warm weather. My window is open and the AC is off. I believe it's in the upper 80's today, and it feels great! The humidity seems to let help my sinuses, as those are often dry. I plan on taking a walk this afternoon to see what all is in my neighborhood that I can walk to.
