I'm starting to notice that when I get together with friends or talk socially with coworkers, that my transition is less and less a topic. Sure, people ask 'how's it going', and I tell them it's going fine. And it is. We then talk about other stuff and that's really how it should be most of the time. I would hope that I only have so many events or days where something profound actually happens because of being trans. It's a sign that people are adjusting and it's not a problem.
I've often felt that my transition isn't really a big deal. Sure, it's a major project with lots of impact. But it won't change many things and instead of being male, I'm female. So many things do not depend on one's gender, so in those ways, it's really not a big deal. Hope that makes some sense.
/sigh, no one's asking me anonymous questions any more...
This is a huge event convering a lot of transgender issues, including a presentation by Dr. Ousterhout, a plastic surgeon who specializes in Facial Feminization Surgery (FFS). That's my reason for going. Attending his seminar will earn me a 20% discount on any work over the next year. Aside from that though, this conference looks like there will be many other things of interest as well.
