Both my children have the toughest job of keeping names & pronouns correct, but they do it well.  If they're just talking to me, they call me "Dad".  It's my title and my role in their life.  The label 'Dad' is a role to me, not a gender identifier, so it's Ok.  However, in public, it can draw needless attention to call a woman 'Dad' so they call me Leann.  Now, depending on who they're talking to, they may use either set of pronouns.  If they're talking to other people who know me, the sentence might read "My Dad is here somewhere... there she is", whereas if they're talking to people who don't know me, and they don't feel the need to go into details about it, they'll use male pronouns.  My son does pretty well with mixing it up, but he gets more practice.  My daughter generally sticks with calling me Leann with everyone, so it's easier on pronouns and no need to explain anything.

Oh, sorry, that was a yes or no question.  "Yes"

My family aren't much different than anyone else - it takes time to get used to a new name.  The more they see me or have a reason to refer to me, it gets easier.  Sometimes it's a mix of references (I've been called Uncle Leann, lol), but generally they catch the mistake.  But as time goes by it's easier of course.
