Q. Just curious and I'm not saying that you do a bad job or anything, but how did you learn how to put on your makeup? As a girl and all (i'm only 12), it took me a while to learn how to put on makeup, and I was just wondering how you learned.

Sometimes it feels like I've taken a crash course in 'how to be a woman 101'.  Of course, I had to practice, and yes it was hard at first to make anything look right.  But I got tips from friends, looked at what other models do and get ideas from that.  I imagine most women learn this way and have spent their whole life picking up tips and getting practice.  I did have a couple key friends give me the scoop on many aspects.

However, I did find that getting makeovers was a great way to get speed up that process of learning what works.  We had a make up saleswoman come to Trans Family and we got makeovers and watched what she did with others.  I've also been to
Sephora and had them give me a make over.  Yeah, sure, they want to sell you make up, but I did need to get that anyway.  This way I could get products that I could already see worked on me.

As you can tell from my pictures, I'm getting better as I go.  Not that I'm good at it yet, but I could see an improvement between my passport picture in February 2008 and the one I just took in June.  Hopefully I'll continue to practice, and I would like to try out a couple other types of make up.  So that means I'll be back at the make up store again!
