I work in a place with about 90 employees, and as the IT Manager I interact with nearly everyone. So the transition needed to have a well thought out plan. My Human Resource person did an excellent job, and things have so far turned out Ok.
It's now official! I'm 'Leann' at work, as my name has been legally changed. It was really to a point where my appearance, while getting everyone adjusting to new looks with me, where vendors probably were wondering and coworkers being uncomfortable as well with me appearing in between and using my male name. So now I'm simply Leann, and presenting that way as well.
I know it will take a while for everyone to quit using the old name, but I can be patient with that. Everyone has been great here, and I couldn't have asked for a smoother transition or more support. I'm very lucky to be working here.
